(also if it doesn't have a turret, you can get over it, and it can't hit you.) what I meant by best was the npcs fleets and stuff. Meh, I didn't like the raven too much, it shot too far out, it was a tank, cloaks were pretty much useless unless you had like afterburners to get out of the way of blaster fire. I don't remember what the top combat rating was, but I remember acheiving it. Of course, that's superfluous when your ships REGENERATE. Special Sigma upgrades are gained through a line of missions, and they give you spiffy stuff like repair drones. Upgrades you MUST get, even as Polaris are vectored thrust and those turning thrusters, forgot what they're called. Throw in some Hellhound missiles and a full escort group of Mark IV Valkyries and I was unstoppable even to Polaris. When I was doing the pirate campaign, I got a whole bunch of mass additions, gun additions, turret additions, and mass retools, such that, as I mentioned earlier, I mounted four 100mm bow railguns, four 150mm bow railguns, four 200mm bow railguns, four turreted 100mm railguns, and four turreted 150mm railguns (. Yeah, the damage isn't so hot, but the range more than makes up for it. To addresss the second part of your post, I like railguns. Get four capacitor lasers, a bunch of mantas, those multi-torpedoes and boom. In real life, that is.ĭid you get the Raven? If you did, you shouldn't be saying that Velloss are better. Also, I have an inordinate bias against energy weapons, as I think projectile weapons are both better and cooler. The closer ships get to real life naval warships the cooler. And for a simple reason too: they're utterly better.įor me, my reasoning to dislike them is utterly rooted in flavor. Who hates Polaris? Everyone loves Polaris that I know. One way to get really good ones is doing the GLimmer mini-storyline, you get all this cool stuff, and it's the only way to get a rage gunboat.Īlso, do you know what the top rating for combat is? in other unrelated things, What guns/outfits do you think were the best? (other than the sigma upgrades.) (if you think about it, a single polaris defense fleet could take over the entire galaxy, and they don't.)īesides, enough people hate polaris. I think polaris are just horribly oppressed and should be looked upon as a ruler who doesn't abuse their power should. They have weapons like "summer bloom," and all that stuff, and are super super cheap (more cheap than polaris). They are a bit cheap, but my least favorite are the Vell-os. The cloaks, multi-jump organs, all those things are so much fun. Anyway, I personally think polaris are better (even though I have gotten and used the Unrelenting (the thunderforged is pretty cool too, check out the auroran storyline.)). Why does everyone say that? I think it's which storyline you play first. It allows you to plot hyperspace jumps (up to 32 at a time) and shows information about systems you have visited, such as trade goods, government alignment, and player legal status.Hmm. The Map screen is one of the most basic features of Nova. To the west are Vellos and Krypt systems. To the north are Rebel, Pirate and Wraith systems. In the center of the map are Federation systems. However, there is no way of knowing for sure how far into the real universe the game universe extends. It is presumed that the game universe of EVN is mostly set in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way. This map of EVN's universe contains information on outfitters and shipyards and lists the planets a system contains.
